GoHaul was a conceptual delivery app to solve a personal problem: sending packages reliably across Ghana. The app allowed users to request deliveries using motorcycles, cars, or trucks depending on the size of the package, accommodating both individuals and businesses. Users could track drivers in real time, communicate updates, and manage payments securely. I focused on creating an intuitive interface that made selecting vehicle types, estimating delivery times, and entering pickup and drop-off locations simple and quick. Features like driver ratings and delivery history were also included to improve trust and transparency.
The project remained in the conceptual stage due to the difficulty of managing a fleet of delivery drivers while balancing school and other responsibilities. During development, global services such as Uber, Bolt, and Yango launched similar delivery solutions in Ghana, which highlighted the competitive landscape and the logistical challenges of running a delivery service in emerging markets. Despite not reaching deployment, the project provided valuable lessons in routing, user experience, and operational planning, particularly for varying package sizes and vehicle types, while strengthening my ability to prototype solutions quickly and think critically about real-world delivery needs.
